Ski Chalets in Zell am See

Zell am See-Kaprun offers 138km of pistes with a great terrain for testing your limits or taking your first turn on the slopes.

The rich, sparkling white snow on three major mountains, the Kitzsteinhorn, Schmittenhöhe and Maiskogel appeals to all levels of skier and boarders. From October winter sports fans head to ski the 3,029m Kitzsteinhorn glacier.  Kaprun, has 41km of piste – 22 of them graded as easy, 16 red and 3 black.

And there’s always snow. At lower levels, well designed snow cannon systems provide a snow guarantee even in changeable weather.

Black run fans will enjoy Schmittenhöhe with its nine downhill runs (25km). This is complemented by another 52km of red and blue pistes. The family mountain of Maiskogel offers many different pistes, too. A total of 68 hectares provides the perfect terrain for practicing the first steps on skis.

Zell am See-Kaprun is just 90 minutes drive from Salzburg and has excellent child-care facilities where children can gain confidence before hitting the slopes. There is also plenty of off-the-slopes action, from Europe’s biggest open-air art gallery on Schmittenhöhe, to the stunning views at Panorama Pfiff, where fine food and wine come with a striking 360 degree mountain view. And the huge lake is one of Austria’s most beautiful.
